Wind power

Wind is a great source for renewable energy, and there’s plenty of it in New Zealand. Individual householders can use wind power to save money, reduce the reliance on electricity supply and help the environment.

There are options for those already connected to the national grid to ‘sell’ any power generated back to electricity suppliers. This reduces the need for large batteries to store electricity, while still staying connected.

More information on wind power can be found on the ENERGYWISETM Generating your own renewable energy webpage.
