Hi everybody,
Last night I attended my first Green Drinks event in Auckland and had a blast!!
I was really impressed with the initiative. I found it was attended by loads of positive and practical people from a wide range of backgrounds, all of whom have an interest in sustainability. The food and drink wasnt half bad either.
It was really good to see the sustainability issue being approached from a positive, social and fun angle.
Has anyone else been to Green Drinks? Either in Auckland or around the country? What were your thoughts?

Wellington, Palmerston North and Tauranga now have Green Drinks. They are hosted by the Sustainable Business Network. Go to www.sustainable.org.nz and search Green Drinks.
Hamilton's Green Drinks are hosted by the Envirocentre - I've been to one of these and they are pretty good.
However Trish Kirkland-Smith and the team at NZAEE www.nzaee.org.nz have to take a bow for running the best Green Drinks in the country.

Glad you had a good time. I am a member of Green Drinks here in Christchurch. The highlight so far was meeting on the Rainbow Warrior II a couple of months ago, a real treat. I am also lucky enough to be in Wanaka on the night green drinks are held so attend there as well. The website they are all listed on is

I've been invited to Green Drinks in Auckland a few times but so far it has always clashed with something else. After reading the comments from everyone else, next time I'm going to abandon the "something else" and go to the Green Drinks instead!
Nick, is it true that one's ability to solve all the world's problems is directly proportional to the number of drinks one has had? I'm sure a lot of lateral thinking takes place at Green Drinks events...
