‘What’s your sustainability?’ film competition winners revealed!

1 May 2008

An animation starring fruit and veggies living sustainably is the winner of our film competition. 'Live sustainably', directed by Louise Clifton won the 'What’s your sustainability?' competition.

Second place went to Jason Barnett's 'Our eco-friendly home', showing his sustainable six-person flat in Wellington. Third place went to Tom Cottle's 'Janitor', the story of a Janitor's never-ending quest to keep the world tidy.

The judging panel consisted of Bruce Foster, Director of Airplane Studios, David Jacobs, Director of Connected Media and Georgina McLeod from the Ministry for the Environment.

The winning film, 'Live sustainably', was described by Bruce Foster as 'a very amusing and inventive effort... an attempt to bring humour into a serious subject and thereby bypass people’s resistance to being told this particular message'.

The viewers' choice award went to Reed Fleming's 'Education that doesn't cost the Earth', which shows what a group of student are doing at their school to become carbon neutral.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to the judges and everyone who participated.
