Vehicle fuel economy labelling

New Zealand needs to reduce its fuel use to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and one way of doing this is to improve the fuel economy of private vehicles. Vehicle fuel economy labels are designed to help car buyers choose more fuel efficient vehicles. You can both reduce your impact on the environment and save money by making informed decision about the fuel efficiency of the vehicles you purchase.

Since April 2008, there has been a requirement that motor trade dealers display the fuel economy information of all new vehicles. This includes all vehicles manufactured since 2000 and imported since 2005.
