Rain gardens

A rain garden has plants that tolerate extremes of rainfall. Water can be diverted into a rain garden from the driveway and from roof guttering, depending on Council regulations. The specially prepared soil mix filters contaminants out of the water, and plants soak up the water, reducing the final volume going into stormwater drains.

Rain gardens reduce the volume of water in stormwater drains
