Want to know where in your home you can save the most water?

Typical Household water use - 50% Toliet, Bathroom/Shower, 20% Laundry, Garden and 10% KitchenThis graph illustrates typical home water usage. The largest component, about half, comes from the bathroom. Both the toilet and the shower each use 25% of the household's water use. The laundry and garden use another 20% each while the kitchen uses 10%.

To find out your average daily household water usage per person, check out the North Shore City Council's Water Use Calculator.  All you need to do is answer a few questions about your household and the calculator will do the rest.  You'll also receive some personalised water saving tips identifying areas where you can save water.
